Perfect student laptop
Silent, light, and the battery lasts two days of lectures. Handles coding, docs, and light Lightroom without a stutter.

Wish it had more ports
Love everything except the two ports. I keep a hub in my bag. Performance and battery are outstanding for the price.

Buyer questions

Questions & answers

Real questions from buyers, answered by owners and the ComparZone team.

From the community

QDoes it get warm or throttle?
Because it is fanless, very long sustained loads can throttle slightly, but for everyday work it stays cool and silent.
QIs 16GB RAM enough now?
For most users yes. If you run heavy virtualization or large creative projects, configure 24GB or 32GB.

Frequently asked

Is the M4 Air fast enough for video editing?
Yes for 1080p and light 4K work. For heavy 4K/ProRes timelines or long exports, a MacBook Pro with active cooling sustains performance better.
How many external displays can it drive?
The M4 Air supports two external displays (in addition to the built-in screen), a useful upgrade over earlier Air models.
Should I upgrade the base storage?
If you keep large photo or video libraries locally, yes — 256GB fills quickly and storage is not user-upgradeable.
